My Chemical Romance 2025 Tour Poster

This project felt less like an assignment and more like returning to a part of myself. My Chemical Romance shaped my early aesthetic sensibilities, so designing a tour poster for their 2025 return was both technically challenging and personally meaningful. The goal was to create an illustrated eleven by seventeen poster that honored MCR’s theatrical, emotional visual identity. The marching band silhouette traced and illustrated with the pen tool anchored the composition as a direct nod to Welcome to the Black Parade. Building the cityscape required precision with shapes, transformations, and repetition, while gradients and atmospheric layers created an apocalyptic mood. Typography tied everything together through hierarchy, contrast, and movement, guiding the viewer’s eye without overwhelming the artwork. Limiting the palette to three colors kept the design cohesive and emotionally resonant. This project strengthened my skills in Illustrator, pen tool mastery, composition, color theory, and visual storytelling. More importantly, it reminded me how powerful design becomes when it is rooted in personal connection.
