This project was my first chance to fully immerse myself in a brand’s visual identity and translate it into a polished advertisement. Glossier’s aesthetic is so recognizable, soft tones, clean lines, minimalist layouts, that I had to be intentional with every design choice to make the poster feel authentic. Researching their brand book helped me understand how color, typography, and imagery work together to create a cohesive message. The process of masking products, adjusting color, and refining type taught me how much detail goes into making a poster feel effortless. This artifact reflects my growth in combining technical Photoshop skills with thoughtful design decisions, all while creating a piece that feels true to the brand and effective for the intended audience.

This project felt less like an assignment and more like returning to a part of myself. My Chemical Romance shaped my early aesthetic sensibilities, so designing a tour poster for their 2025 return was both technically challenging and personally meaningful.
The goal was to create an illustrated eleven by seventeen poster that honored MCR’s theatrical, emotional visual identity. The marching band silhouette traced and illustrated with the pen tool anchored the composition as a direct nod to Welcome to the Black Parade. Building the cityscape required precision with shapes, transformations, and repetition, while gradients and atmospheric layers created an apocalyptic mood.
Typography tied everything together through hierarchy, contrast, and movement, guiding the viewer’s eye without overwhelming the artwork. Limiting the palette to three colors kept the design cohesive and emotionally resonant.
This project strengthened my skills in Illustrator, pen tool mastery, composition, color theory, and visual storytelling. More importantly, it reminded me how powerful design becomes when it is rooted in personal connection.
